WWOOF Hands Off

‘It’s your day off,’ said Helga.

They won’t let me work. They seemed pleased with the amount of work I did over the last 3 days and insisted that I rest today. The work included – walk Sarah-Lee (the house dog with a cat’s personality) along apple and pear orchards; take photos of a wine tasting lunch they hosted for a German group; collect pine cones; harvest grapes and a bit of tomatoes; quite a lot of dish washing before and after the German group came; sweep the yard (Chris noted it’s a bit like a Zen monastery – no sooner has a monk swept the leaves, wind brings more). Now, I am on the terrace, lazing with Sarah Lee. After lunch, Chris will drop me off at Óbidos, a medieval town about 15km east of Vinhos Cortem.
