Cucumber Rides

On the Night of Museums (May 14), the city will be supplying wheels-for-free. You can go from spot-to-spot riding on retro buses nicknamed ogórek for their resemblance to cucumbers. During the commie days, they were the means of public transport. Like the ideology, they’re now in retirement. Quite a sight, these lumbering wide-tyre tin cans. Hope to catch one this year.

The morning after: Saw some but didn’t manage to snap an ogórek on camera. They looked very Indiana Jones and can also sit prettily in Romancing the Stone.
